Former President Donald Trump has endorsed two primary challengers to Washington Rep. Dan Newhouse – one of two remaining GOP House members who voted to impeach him after the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot.

Newhouse is running in the state's 4th Congressional District, with the top-two primary finishers advancing to the general election, regardless of party.

Trump, now the GOP presidential nominee, has endorsed Tiffany Smiley, a veterans advocate, and Jerrod Sessler, former NASCAR driver in Tuesday's primary.

“Tiffany Smiley is a tremendous America First Candidate running to represent the Great People of Washington’s 4th Congressional District!” Trump wrote on social media. “Likewise, Jerrod Sessler, who I have Endorsed in the past, would be fantastic, fighting for the same things that Tiffany, and I, want for our Country.”
