Trump says U.S. 'saying exactly the wrong thing' to Russia, warns of World War III
“We have to be very smart and very nimble. We have to know what to say, what to do," Trump says
Former President Donald Trump says the U.S. is “saying exactly the wrong thing” to Russia and it could lead to World War III.
President Joe Biden has said Russia's leader Vladimir Putin is “not joking” about the possibility of using nuclear weapons during his invasion of Ukraine.
“We have not faced the prospect of armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis,” Biden said.
Trump argued Sunday that U.S. leaders should be encouraging peace rather than using rhetoric like Biden's armageddon comment.
“We have to be very smart and very nimble. We have to know what to say, what to do. And we are saying exactly the wrong thing. We’ll end up in a World War III,” Trump said at a rally in Mesa, Arizona, where he was campaigning for U.S. Senate candidate Blake Masters and gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake. "We must demand immediate negotiation of a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine, or we will end up in World War III and there will never be a war like this."
Russia has attempted annexation of new territories in Ukraine. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said there won't any peace talks with Russia as long as Putin is its leader.
