Trump on Taylor Swift's Harris endorsement: 'She’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace'

“I was not a Taylor swift fan, it was just a question of time. She couldn’t, you couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden you couldn’t possibly endorse him,” Trump says

GOP presidential nominee former President Donald Trump on Wednesday morning responded to Taylor Swift's endorsement the night before of Democratic presidential rival Vice President Kamala Harris, saying the pop superstar will "probably pay a price" financially for the support.

"I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan," Trump said on Fox News, referring to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whose teammate Travis Kelsey is Swift's boyfriend.

Swift made the endorsement after the roughly 105-minute Harris-Trump debate Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan," Trump continued. "It was just a question of time. She couldn’t, you couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him."

The 34-year-old singer-songwriter endorsed Biden in 2020, and in 2018 she backed Democrat Phil Bredesen in his failed attempt to win an open Senate seat in Tennessee.

“She’s [Swift] a very liberal person," Trump also said. "She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace,“I think Brittany’s great. Brittany got a lot of news last week she’s a big MAGA fan, that’s the one I like much better than Taylor Swift.”

Brittany Mahomes reportedly liked a Trump Instagram post about his party’s 2024 platform. Mahomes was in the same box as Swift at the U.S. Open on Sunday.
