The Energy Department has updated its cost analysis for Americans transition from a gas to an electric stove, showing a  substantial decrease in savings.

The Biden administration is making effort to get Americans to the transition over concerns gas stove give emit harmful particles and pollution.

The update shows saving would be only about 9%, compared to its original projection of 30%, according to Fox News.

In response, the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers said the number is "almost negligible."

"The changes in energy savings projected by DOE primarily result from DOE recognizing that the currently available cooking products are more efficient than its earlier analysis assumed," the group told Fox.

In February, the agency said the green-energy initiative would result in $1.7 billion in savings.
