Midwest and upper Plains hit with blizzard warnings following Christmas
Eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota are under an ice storm warning.
Blizzard warnings have been issued to five states by the National Weather Service for Tuesday, following Christmas.
Wyoming, western Nebraska, the northeast part of Colorado, western Minnesota, and South Dakota are expected to be hit with the most snow, according to ABC5 News.
Specifically, eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota are under an ice storm warning. The National Weather Service warned of potential power outages and tree damages.
Colorado is expected to get up to eight inches of snow and winds may top 55 mph in the region.
Travel is being strongly discouraged due to these warnings, according to CBS News.
Interstate 70 in eastern Colorado was closed for several hours on Tuesday morning due to the weather.
