Congressman Ralph Norman says GOP plans to put together budget cutting $17 trillion

South Carolina GOP Rep. Ralph Norman said Tuesday that House Republicans plan to put together a budget in the next two weeks that will cut up to $17 trillion.
"You will see in the next two weeks the beginnings of a great budget that offsets any increase in the debt ceiling," Norman told the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "You will see a budget that has severe cuts that will be in excess of $17 trillion."
Norman has been one of the most outspoken members of Congress when it comes to government spending and getting it under control.
He was one of the 20 congressmen who voted against House Speaker McCarthy back in January, citing McCarthy's contribution to government overspending.
"We can't wait," stated Norman. "Time is not on our side. It's up to us as legislators to put forth a budget that balances."
He proceeded to say that House Republicans are planning to have a meeting about the budget next week and will hopefully complete it in the next two weeks.
"We just had a conference call on it today," said Norman. "We will be getting together next week to put together a budget on paper in short order among a lot of things, starting with the spending trajectory down and having a debt ceiling lowered, which by the way, could face us the first of June."
He also said that he strongly believes McCarthy will deliver on his promise to create a budget that decreases government spending.
"Our shining moment is now to put forth a conservative budget," Norman concluded. "And I think it's gaining momentum in the House. It's gonna be up to Mr. McCarthy to get the 218 votes to deliver what he promised. and I think he will."
