Trump signs executive order promoting cryptocurrency advancements
“The digital asset industry plays a crucial role in innovation and economic development in the United States, as well as our Nation’s international leadership,” the executive order reads.
President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that will promote the advancement of cryptocurrencies across the U.S.
This will also pave the way towards the development of a national digital asset stockpile, according to CNBC News.
“The digital asset industry plays a crucial role in innovation and economic development in the United States, as well as our Nation’s international leadership,” the executive order reads.
Trump was critical of cryptocurrency during his first term, but has recently warmed up to it and even become a fan.
Many crypto investors donated to Trump's 2024 campaign and he spoke at a Bitcoin National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, back in July.
"If I am elected, it will be the policy of my administration, United States of America, to keep 100% of all the bitcoin the U.S. government currently holds or acquires into the future,” he said during his remarks.
