Virginia GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin has vetoed 30 gun control bills during his term, saying he will fight for residents'  Second Amendment rights.

“I swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of Virginia, and that absolutely includes protecting the right of law-abiding Virginians to keep and bear arms,” Youngkin said regarding the vetoes.

Youngkin blocked one bill that would have made it illegal to possess a firearm within 100 feet of voting locations, arguing it “would necessitate individuals to navigate around various locations permanently, regardless of their purpose in the area.”

He also vetoed a bill that would make it illegal to purchase a gun until the age of 21, according to The Daily Wire.

The Virginia House of Delegates and Senate are Democrat-controlled and many members have been pushing stricter gun control laws.
