Harris campaign deploys Walz to win over male voters
The effort comes after former President Barack Obama appeared in Detroit and blasted black men for their hesitance to back Harris.
Concerned over weak support with male voters, the Harris campaign has sent Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., to try to win over increasingly Trump-leaning young men.
Walz's Friday media blitz will include an appearance on ABC for an interview with former NFL player Michael Strahan, a speech to his former football team, and a pheasant hunting trip with social media influencers, Politico reported.
The effort comes after former President Barack Obama appeared in Detroit and blasted black men for their hesitance to back Harris.
“You’re thinking about sitting out or supporting somebody who has a history of denigrating you, because you think that’s a sign of strength, because that’s what being a man is? Putting women down?” Obama said, according to CNN. “That’s not acceptable.”
Polling data has increasingly shown Trump gaining ground with black men.
