Harris details Biden decline in forthcoming memoir
Harris further insisted that she did not perceive any shortcomings in his mental acuity.
Vice President Kamala Harris has detailed her perspective of President Joe Biden and his physical decline in the final year of his administration in her upcoming memoir "107 Days."
Harris released an excerpt of her memoir through The Atlantic, documenting what she believed was Biden succumbing to his age. At the time, Biden was the oldest president in U.S. history. He faced regular accusations of cognitive decline due to a series of gaffes, stumbles, and apparent incidents of forgetfulness.
“On his worst day, he was more deeply knowledgeable, more capable of exercising judgment, and far more compassionate than Donald Trump at his best," Harris wrote in the excerpt. “But at 81, Joe got tired... That’s when his age showed in physical and verbal stumbles.”
Harris further insisted that she did not perceive any shortcomings in his mental acuity. She also stated that she refrained from pressuring her running mate to drop out, suspecting he would view such urging as self-interested.
