The voluntary recall involved three brands of nuggets and chicken tenders, according to the Department of Agriculture announcement. The frozen, ready-to-eat products may have been contaminated with metal.
The products were shipped to retail locations nationwide or sold online directly to consumers. The problem was discovered after the company received consumer complaints about metal wire embedded in the product. Perdue notified the USDA of the complaints.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, according to the USDA.
