Biden, this morning, attracted speculation due to visible impressions on his face, which Bloomberg reports are the result of him using the devices, citing sources. The Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) works to pressurize the user's airways to ensure regular breathing.
Sleep apnea is a disorder in which breathing repeatedly starts and stops, the Mayo Clinic states. It has several variations, but common symptoms include snoring, difficulty staying asleep, irritability, morning headaches, daytime sleepiness, and difficulty paying attention. The president has struggled with the disorder since 2008, according to the Associated Press.
