Former GOP Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee praised Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance's debate performance, saying it was just what the Trump team needed.
"What we saw last night was J.D. Vance really delivering one of the great performances of a debate I've seen," Huckabee said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "His calmness [and] his sense of serenity about the whole process was just amazing."
Vance squared off with Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz in a debate on Tuesday where they answered questions from CBS moderators.

"J.D. Vance was precise and he was succinct in everything that he said," Huckabee said. "Very measured, but he didn't come across as overly performing. It was just simply from the heart. He just spoke with clarity.
"It was, I thought, absolutely, one of the best debate performances, maybe the best ever," he continued.
Former President Donald Trump's campaign declared Vance the winner of the debate shortly after it ended.
