An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer was arrested in connection with an incident in which he allegedly shot a Venezuelan migrant earlier this year.

Christian Castro was deployed to Minneapolis, Minn., earlier this year as part of the Trump administration's crackdown. He faces federal charges for allegedly lying about an incident in which he shot a Venezuelan immigrant, whom he claimed had attacked him first.

He had been in Texas custody, though the governor declined to extradite him to Minnesota, which brought separate charges. Castro entered Minnesota custody on Wednesday, The Hill reported.

The case remains one of the most high-profile incidents from the Trump administration's crackdown, though it did not involve a fatality.

The Minneapolis surge also witnessed the deaths of anti-ICE demonstrators Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
