Jill Biden on husband's 2024 plans: 'He says he's not done'
Former President Donald Trump has already declared his candidacy, as have former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy.
First lady Jill Biden on Friday indicated that her husband, President Joe Biden was likely to pursue a reelection campaign in 2024.
" He says he’s not done... How many times does he have to say it for you to believe it?" she told the Associated Press while in Kenya. "He says he’s not done. He’s not finished what he’s started. And that’s what’s important."
President Joe Biden has hinted that he plans to seek reelection but has stopped shy of formally announcing his campaign. His first potential Democratic challenger, Hollywood spiritual guru Marianne Williamson, announced her candidacy earlier this week. Williamson previously sought the Democratic nomination in 2020 but lost out to Biden.
On the Republican side, former President Donald Trump has already declared his candidacy, as have former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy.
Polling earlier this month shows Biden may face a formidable challenge in former President Trump should he seek reelection. Trump held a narrow, 3% lead in an early February survey from the Washington Post/ABC News.
