White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday decried the activities of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) demonstrators, whom she said were part of a paid network seeking to impede immigration enforcement operations.

"You have these organized, paid antagonists who are part of these groups that are actively, unlawfully impeding lawful law enforcement operations!" she told Fox News. "They are harassing and targeting ICE agents, trying to make it impossible, again, for them to carry out their duties."

"That's what was happening in this case," she added, referring to the death of Renee Nicole Good. Good was shot during an altercation with ICE in Minneapolis, Minn., earlier this month. Video footage of the incident showed Good refuse to leave her vehicle when prompted by ICE agents and attempt to drive away, impacting an agent, who then opened fire.

The Department of Homeland Security and President Donald Trump have defended the agent's conduct as self-defense. Minneapolis has been a hotspot for immigration enforcement in recent weeks amid revelations of large-scale public fraud linked to the Somali expat community in the area.
