Liz Cheney endorses Democratic House candidates

The former Republican Conference Chair famously broke with Trump after Jan. 6, leading a small contingent of House Republicans in voting for his second impeachment.

For Wyoming GOP Rep. Liz Cheney this week endorsed a slew of House Democratic candidates, taking her feud with former President Donald Trump beyond the top of the party ticket.

Cheney, this week, endorsed Rep. Susan Wild, D-Pa., and John Avlon, a challenger to Rep. Nick LaLota, R-N.Y., The Hill reported.

"We need thoughtful and serious people in Congress who will uphold the rule of law," she said.

The former Republican Conference Chair famously broke with Trump after Jan. 6, leading a small contingent of House Republicans in voting for his second impeachment.

The party later stripped her of her leadership position and she lost reelection in 2022 to the Trump-backed Harriet Hageman.

Earlier this week, Cheney came under fire for using an encrypted messaging app to contact Jan. 6 Committee witness Cassidy Hutchinson behind her attorney's back.
