MTG: Iran war hurting Vance for 2028
During the 2028 campaign, Vance criticized the regime change wars of presidents past and he positioned himself as an America first true believer.
Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., this week warned that the ongoing war was impacting Vice President JD Vance's political prospects and suggested that his general lack of public criticism of the conflict could hurt his America first bona fides.
“The longer it goes on, it definitely does hurt JD Vance, and that’s someone that I campaigned for aggressively,” Greene told CNN.
“We all see things very much the same way, but we’re also the younger generation, and I can tell you, I won’t speak for anyone, but there are people in the administration, high up in the administration, I know that don’t support this," she went on. “But the longer they stay silent, it hurts them. It definitely hurts them in the future,."
During the 2028 campaign, Vance criticized the regime change wars of presidents past and he positioned himself as an America first true believer. The Iran war has seen some of Trump's supporters express frustrations with the administration.
Greene, a formerly stalwart MAGA supporter, ultimately left Congress and broke with the president, citing frustrations with the administration's apparent laxity on deportations and the economy while continuing foreign entanglements.
Vance has been relatively absent on social media since the war began. He is expected to appear alongside Trump, however, at a "signing event" in the Oval Office.
