Pentagon readies more troops for Minneapolis deployment: MSNOW

The Department of War this week issued a prepare-to-deploy order to a number of Army units in Fort Bragg, N.C., ahead of a possible assignment to Minneapolis, Minn., MS NOW reported, citing "three people familiar with the matter."
The report comes as President Donald Trump has openly weighed invoking the Insurrection Act to quell the anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) demonstrations in the city, which have led to violent altercations with law enforcement.
The 1807 law permits the president to use the military for civilian law enforcement purposes if he concludes that domestic unrest in the area constitutes an insurrection and presents a barrier to his ability to enforce the law.
