America's least popular congressional leader revealed with single-digit approval rating: Poll
Senate Majority Leader Schumer is the second least popular congressional leader with a 21% approval rating, according to the poll.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is the least popular congressional leader with an approval rating of 6%, but all leaders have underwater approval ratings, according to a new poll.
McConnell's disapproval rating of 60% is higher than any other congressional leader, according to a poll released Monday by Monmouth University. More than one-third of Americans, 34%, said they do not have an opinion on the Kentucky Republican.
McConnell is the only congressional leader to be underwater with his fellow partisans, with 10% saying they approve of the job he's doing and 41% saying they disapprove. Except for McConnell, every other congressional leader's approval rating is at least 30 points higher than their disapproval rating among members of their own party.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is the second least popular congressional leader, according to the poll, as he has a 21% approval rating and a 41% disapproval rating among Americans.
In the House, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., has a 21% approval rating and a 22% disapproval rating while most Americans, 56%, do not have an opinion about him.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has a 17% approval rating and a 31% disapproval rating while 51% of people do not have an opinion.
The latest survey also showed that Biden's approval rating of 34% is at an all-time low for Monmouth polling.
This poll was conducted from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 with 803 U.S. adults and it has a 4.8% margin of error.
