President Joe Biden's approval rating is 43%, unchanged from October's percentage, according to an Associated Press-NORC survey released Thursday.

The survey was conducted from Dec. 1-5, which suggests that Democrats doing better than expected in the midterms and some signs of slowing inflation, specifically with gasoline prices, did not change voters' perception of Biden's efforts.

The poll's rating for Biden in September was 45%, up from a low point of 36% in July.

The poll was among 1,124 adult respondents, with the expected partisan divide.

Since September, at least 77% of Democrats have consistently approved of Biden's job performance, while about 10% of Republicans have approved over that same time.

For the past month, Biden's average approval rating has been lower than any other modern president at this time in office, according to data from polling outlet FiveThirtyEight.

The poll, which has a 3.8% margin of error, also shows Americans still have a pessimistic but slightly more upbeat look on the economy.

Twenty-eight percent said the economy is moving in the right direction, slightly up from 25% in October and 27% in September.
