Donald Trump leads Kamala Harris among Arab voters: Poll
The two major party candidates were within the margin of error, but Trump led Harris by two percentage points, with 45% of the responses. Harris secured 43%.
Former President Donald Trump is currently leading Vice President Kamala Harris by a small majority among Arab voters, according to a new poll, even as the group considers him more supportive of Israel.
The poll, reported early by Semafor, was conducted by Arab News and YouGov, and questioned 500 Arab Americans nationwide on who they plan to put in the Oval Office next month. The two major party candidates were within the margin of error, but Trump led Harris by two percentage points, with 45% of the responses. Harris secured 43%.
Six percent of respondents said they were still undecided on who they would for, and 4% said they support Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Stein has also been endorsed by the "Abandon Harris" movement, which is a group of primarily Arab Americans who are protesting the Biden-Harris administration's response to the war in Israel.
The survey also revealed that although Trump is considered more supportive of Israel, he was also viewed as more likely to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, with 39% of the vote. Approximately one third (33%) said Harris was more likely.
The numbers come as both candidates face backlash over their support for the Israeli government amid the country's war with Hamas. Harris has defended Israel's right to protect itself, but said there needs to be more compassion for the Palestinian civilians who have been caught in the crossfire. The support for Israel has caused her to lose vital support among young Democrats.
Trump has maintained that the war would never have broken out if he had been president at the time.
“Arab Voters are very upset that Comrade Kamala Harris, the Worst Vice President in the History of the United States and a Low IQ individual, is campaigning with ‘dumb as a rock’ War Hawk, Liz Cheney," the former president posted to Truth Social on Monday. "[Cheney] like her father, the man that pushed Bush to ridiculously go to War in the Middle East, wants to go to War with every Muslim Country known to mankind."
The poll was conducted between Sept. 26 and Oct. 1, and has a 5.9% margin of error.
