Majority says RFK Jr.'s endorsement does not change their view of Trump: Poll

The majority of respondents in a poll published Thursday claimed that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s endorsement of former President Donald Trump does not change their view of the Republican hopeful.
The poll, conducted by Quinnipiac University, found that 64% of likely voters said Kennedy's support does not impact their view of Trump, but nearly one fifth (19%) said it makes them view Trump more favorably.
Approximately 15% of respondents said it made them think more negatively of Trump.
Kennedy officially endorsed the former president last week, after suspending his own independent presidential bid. Kennedy's campaign joined forces with Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the Democratic nominee.
The Quinnipiac poll also found that 42% of the poll's respondents had a negative view of Kennedy. Nearly a quarter of respondents (24%) did not know Kennedy well enough to have an opinion, and approximately one third (32%) viewed him favorably.
“RFK Jr. – his own presidential prospects in a nosedive – bounces to Donald Trump’s camp,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a statement. “But is he an asset or a liability? Independents, so critical to the outcome of the race, aren’t exactly swayed by him to change their views about Trump.”
The survey polled 1,611 likely U.S. voters, and was conducted from Aug. 23 through Aug. 27. It had a margin of error of plus and minus 2.4 percentage points.
