Most young Americans say Israel should "be ended and given to Hamas," an internationally recognized terrorist organization, while more than two-thirds of them say Jews are oppressors and should be treated as such, according to a new poll.

When asked, "Do you think that the long-term answer to the Israel-Palestinian dispute is for Arab states to absorb the Palestinians, for there to be two states, Israel and Palestine, or for Israel to be ended and given to Hamas and the Palestinians?" 51% of those polled who are ages 18-24 said they supported the end of Israel, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll released Friday.

This poll was conducted Dec. 13-14 with 2,034 registered voters. The margin of error was not immediately available.

Meanwhile, 17% of people ages 18-24 say that Arab states should absorb the Palestinians while 32% said they supported a two-state solution.

However, 60% of everyone polled said that there should be a two-state solution and just 19% said that Israel should be ended and given to Hamas and the Palestinians in a poll that comes just two months after the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas left about 1,200 people in Israel dead and 240 others taken captive.

Additionally, 67% of young people say that "Jews as a class are oppressors and should be treated as oppressors," the poll showed. This is compared to 73% of people overall who consider this a "false ideology." Furthermore, while 74% of people polled said that college students who call for the genocide of Jews should face action for violating university rules, 53% of young people said that the students should be told they are free to call for the genocide of Jews.

The support for having Hamas and the Palestinians rule the area comes even as young voters have overwhelmingly negative views about the terrorist group. For example, the poll showed that 76% of people ages 18-24 believe Hamas committed rapes and other crimes against women on Oct. 7, 62% say Hamas uses civilians as human shields, 58% say Hamas should be removed from running Gaza and another 58% say that Hamas "would like to commit genocide" against the Jews.

Additionally, 66% of young people said that Oct. 7 was genocidal in nature, but 60% of them said it "can be justified by the grievance of Palestinians."

Complicating the situation even further, the poll found that 80% of people ages 18-24 said that Israel has "a right to defend itself against terror attacks by launching air strikes" and 69% say that Israel has a right to exist as a homeland for the Jewish people.

However, most of this age group, 76%, say that Hamas "can be negotiated with to create peace," even though Hamas has pledged to repeat the brutal Oct. 7 attacks until the state of Israel crumbles.
