More adults identify as Republicans, prefer GOP on the economy: Gallup poll review
The gallop poll says some of the top issues voters are concerned about include immigration and the economy.
The Republican Party is more favored on the issues of the economy and inflation than the Democratic Party, according to a Gallup poll review.
The polls also show more individuals identifying as Republican or "lean Republican" (48%) than Democrat or "lean Democrat" (45%). This is a shift for the GOP, which has usually trailed the Democrats in the past 30 years.
According to the review, 46% of Americans say that the Republican Party could properly address their biggest concerns about the country currently.
Forty-one percent said the same for the Democrats.
The Gallup polls say some of the top issues voters are concerned about include immigration and the economy.
"Americans currently give the Republican Party a six-percentage-point edge, 50% to 44%, as the party they think would do a better job of keeping the country prosperous," the poll states.
The GOP also has a large advantage regarding the issue of terrorism, where they lead Democrats 54% to 40%.
