Trump nearly 20 points ahead of Biden in Iowa: poll
A total of 50% of likely voters in Iowa said they would vote for Trump, compared to 32% for Biden.
Former President Donald Trump has a nearly 20-point lead over President Joe Biden in Iowa for the 2024 presidential election, according to a new poll.
A total of 50% of likely voters in Iowa said they would vote for Trump, compared to 32% for Biden in the Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll. Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. received 9%, while Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver received 2%.
Three percent opted for another candidate, while 1% indicated they would not vote, and 3% were unsure.
Of the likely voters who picked Biden as their first-choice candidate, 81% said their mind was made up, while 19% indicated they could be persuaded to support another candidate as their first choice. For the Trump supporters who are likely voters, 76% said their mind was made up, compared to 24% who said they could be persuaded.
The survey questions for likely voters were conducted June 9-14 by Selzer & Co. of Des Moines of 632 adults and have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.
In a February poll, Trump was ahead of Biden in Iowa 48% to 33%.
