Polling indicates the American people are pessimistic about the country's future.

An astounding 88% of Americans say the country is on the wrong track, and only 10% believe it's heading in the right direction, according to a recent survey from Monmouth University.

Meanwhile, a new Gallup poll shows Americans are expressing an all-time low in overall confidence in major U.S. institutions, such as the Supreme Court and the media.
