The Republican National Committee (RNC) is currently considering a resolution to declare former President Donald Trump the presumptive GOP nominee for president in 2024 in the wake of his victories in New Hampshire and Iowa.

"RESOLVED that the Republican National Committee hereby declares President Trump as our presumptive 2024 nominee for the office of President of the United States and from this moment forward moves into full general election mode welcoming supporters of all candidates as valued members of Team Trump 2024," states the draft resolution obtained by the Dispatch.

Trump-aligned RNC Committeeman David Bossie proposed the resolution, which would not amend the requirement that Trump win the primary to claim the nomination.

The former president this week defeated former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley to win the New Hampshire primary. Haley remains Trump's sole competitor for the party nomination of any standing and has vowed to pursue her bid despite the loss.

Trump has dismissed her aspirations as "DELUSIONAL."
