Senior Trump adviser hints at new attack line on Harris ahead of debate
"It reminds everybody that as the Vice President, how ineffective she has been," he said.
Trump campaign advisor Corey Lewandowski on Tuesday hinted at one possible line of attack against Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the presidential debate: she and Trump have never met.
Harris and the former president on Tuesday will square off in what could be the only presidential debate of of the 2024 cycle.
"Think about that. Donald Trump was the President of the United States for four years. Kamala Harris was the sitting U.S. senator from the state of California," he said on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast. "And in all of the amazing things that the Trump administration was able to do, some with some bipartisan support, never once was she in a room as it came to negotiations for the largest tax cut in American history."
Lewandowski went on to assert that Harris's absence during key governing events of the Trump administration, despite being in a position to provide input, signaled she was not an effective lawmaker.
"Never once was she in the room as it came to supporting our allies in the Middle East and specifically Israel," he continued. "Never once was she in the room anywhere other than when Donald Trump gave the State of the Union speech. And that tells you how ineffective she was as a US senator."
"It reminds everybody that as the Vice President, how ineffective she has been," he went on. "And so tonight will be interesting that they're actually going to meet for the first time."
