Plane nosedives into highway in Malaysia, killing at least 10, chilling video shows
About three minutes after landing clearance was given, the air traffic control tower "observed smoke" officials said.
A private plane nosedived into a motorbike and car on a highway Thursday in Malaysia in a terrifying moment captured on car dashcam, leaving at least 10 people dead, according to police.
Six passengers and two crew members were on the Beechcraft jet, Malaysia's civil aviation authority said, according to CNN.
The plane, which had departed from Langkawi, had been given clearance to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, west of the capital Kuala Lumpur.
About three minutes after landing clearance was given, the air traffic control tower "observed smoke originating from the crash site but no mayday call was made by the aircraft," the aviation authority said.
The plane crashed into a car and a motorcycle, both of which were carrying one person, Selangor Police Head Hussein Omar Khan said, according to state newspaper Berita Harian.
"No one survived the crash," Transportation Minister Anthony Loke said at a press conference. The victims who were on the road at the time of the incident still need to be identified, he also said.
