U.S. airlines canceled more than 2,500 flights this weekend after the Federal Aviation Administration’s order to reduce air traffic due to the ongoing government shutdown.

Airports mostly affected include Atlanta and Chicago, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Newark, New Jersey, according to the Associated Press.

The AP noted that all the cancellations were not a result of the FAA order.

The amount of canceled flights is expected to rise if the government shutdown continues.
