Trump up 8 points over Biden in Michigan, tied in Pennsylvania: CNN poll
Overall, Trump leads Biden by 3.9% in Michigan, according to RealClearPolitics. In Pennsylvania, that figure stands at 0.5%.
Former President Donald Trump has carved out a significant lead over President Joe Biden in the key battleground state of Michigan and is closely competing with him in the Keystone State.
The latest CNN poll shows Trump earning 50% support in Michigan compared to Biden's 42%. In Pennsylvania, the pair earned 46% support each. Trump claimed both states in the 2016 presidential election against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton but lost them to Biden in 2020.
When independents Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West enter the mix, Trump's surges ahead in Pennsylvania, though his lead in Michigan diminishes somewhat. That matchup saw Trump earn 40% support in Pennsylvania to Biden's 38%, while Kennedy and West earned 16% and 4%, respectively.
In Michigan, Trump earned 40%, Biden earned 34%, Kennedy 18%, and West 4%.
Overall, Trump leads Biden by 3.9% in Michigan, according to RealClearPolitics. In Pennsylvania, that figure stands at 0.5%. Both state averages include the CNN survey results.
Conducted March 13-18 by SSRS, the CNN survey question 1,097 registered voters in Michigan and 1,132 register voters in Pennsylvania. The Michigan margin of error was +/- 3.6% while in Pennsylvania, that metric was +/- 3.8%.
