Trump to attend Fox News town hall in opposition to CNN debate
Scheduled for Jan. 10, both the Trump town hall and the rival debate come just ahead of the Iowa Caucus, the first nominating contest in the race for the GOP nomination.
Former President Donald Trump plans to participate in a town hall with Fox News next week while some of his rivals for the Republican nomination debate on CNN.
Trump has not participated in any of the Republican primary debates thus far, citing his considerable polling lead. He currently boasts a 51.3% advantage in the RealClearPolitics polling average.
Scheduled for Jan. 10, both the Trump town hall and the rival debate come just ahead of the Iowa Caucus, the first nominating contest in the race for the GOP nomination. Fox's Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will moderate the Des Moines town hall, The Hill reported.
The CNN debate appears poised to feature just Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who are currently vying for the second-place position. Tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson did not qualify to participate.
