Trump fumes over alleged FEMA support for illegals amid Helene recovery
"The GREAT people of North Carolina are being stood up by Harris and Biden," he said.
Former President Donald Trump on Monday excoriated the Biden-Harris administration's handling of the federal response to Hurricane Helene, attacking the government for allegedly using emergency funds to support illegal immigrants instead of helping the victims of the storm.
"The GREAT people of North Carolina are being stood up by Harris and Biden, who are giving almost all of the FEMA money to Illegal Migrants in what is now considered to be the WORST rescue operation in the history of the U.S.," Trump posted on Truth Social. "On top of that, Billions of Dollars is going to foreign countries! NORTH CAROLINA HAS BEEN VIRTUALLY ABANDONED BY KAMALA!!! DROP HER LIKE SHE DROPPED YOU - VOTE FOR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP. MAGA2024!"
The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) has faced scrutiny from Republicans over its "entanglement" with the surge in illegal immigration at the southern border in recent weeks.
Republicans have pointed to whistleblower claims that the agency has used its funding to support illegal entrants to the U.S.
At least 200 people have died due to the storm.
