Trump lead reaches 50 points over DeSantis: poll
Overall, Trump's lead has risen to 41.9% in the RealClearPolitics polling average.
Former President Donald Trump has soared to a 50-point lead in the Republican primary, with nearly two-thirds of Republicans supporting his White House bid.
Trump took 62% support among Republican and Republican-leaning voters in the latest Quinnipiac survey. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis placed second with 12% while no other candidate earned double digits.
Tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy placed third with 6% support.
The survey's September iteration showed an 11-point swing toward Trump against the Florida governor. Trump claimed 57% support in the August survey while DeSantis took 18%.
Overall, Trump's lead has risen to 41.9% in the RealClearPolitics polling average. He claims 55.0% support in that metric.
In a general election, Trump trails Biden by 1%, 47% to 46%.
The survey was conducted Sept. 7-11.
