Trump leads Republican rivals by nearly 50 points: poll
The September survey revealed modest bump in support from Trump, who gained 3% over his August figures.
Former President Donald Trump's lead in the Republican primary is approaching the 50% mark, with only Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis earning double-digit support against the ex-commander-in-chief in a recent survey.
Trump claimed the support of 60% of Republicans in the latest I&I/TIPP poll while DeSantis took 11% support. Tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy claimed 9%, former Vice President Mike Pence earned 6%, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley took 3%, while all remaining candidates earned 1% or less.
The September survey revealed modest bump in support from Trump, who gained 3% over his August figures. Ramaswamy increased his support by 1% while DeSantis posted a 1% drop.
Conducted between Aug. 30-Sept. 1, the survey questioned 509 Republican voters and has a margin of error of +/- 4.4%.
The I&I/TIPP survey may be something of an outlier, however. On average, Trump commands a 39.5% lead, according to RealClearPolitics. That metric shows him with 53.4% support to DeSantis's 13.9% and Ramaswamy's 6.8%.
