Trump thanks law enforcement for 'incredible job' handling assassination attempt
"THE JOB DONE WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!" he concluded.
Former President Donald Trump on Sunday evening thanked law enforcement for their handling of a second assassination attempt against him.
"I would like to thank everyone for your concern and well wishes - It was certainly an interesting day!" Trump posted. "Most importantly, I want to thank the U.S. Secret Service, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and his Office of brave and dedicated Patriots, and, all of Law Enforcement, for the incredible job done today at Trump International in keeping me, as the 45th President of the United States, and the Republican Nominee in the upcoming Presidential Election, SAFE."

On Sunday afternoon, Secret Service engaged an individual with a rifle who was waiting along Trump's golf course in Palm Beach. Law enforcement has apprehended a suspect, whom authorities have identified as Ryan Wesley Routh.
Routh, 58, lived in North Carolina for most of his life prior to moving to Hawaii in 2018. He was also an advocate for Ukraine on social media and ran a website seeking to raise money and recruit volunteers to fight the Russians.
His alleged attempt against Trump marked the second assassination attempt after Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on July 13 at a Trump rally in Butler, Pa. Trump sustained a gunshot wound to the ear in that incident.
