Trump touts support from Tim Walz's brother
Jeff Walz drew attention with Facebook posts indicating that he opposes his brother's political stances.
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday thanked Jeff Walz, the brother of Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., for his support in the presidential election.
Tim Walz is the Democratic vice presidential nominee. His brother, meanwhile, is a registered Republican and previously donated to Trump's 2016 campaign, according to The Hill.
Trump shared a purported image of the Walz family in Nebraska wearing custom Trump shirts, adding "Thank you very much, Jeff. It is a Great Honor to have your Endorsement. I look forward to meeting you soon!"
Jeff Walz drew attention with Facebook posts indicating that he opposes his brother's political stances. He has, however, indicated that he does not wish to be associated with any campaign and does not plan to make further public statements.
“There is going to be no further statements to anybody, and we’re not campaigning or anything for him or against him or anything like that,” he told NewsNation earlier this week.
