White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday denied reporting from Reuters claiming that the Trump administration would soon revoke temporary legal status for 240,000 Ukrainians who arrived since the Russian invasion.

"This is more fake news from Reuters based on anonymous sources who have no idea what they are talking about.

The truth: no decision has been made at this time," Leavitt posted.

The press secretary included a screenshot of the initial Reuters report in her post. Fears that the administration would remove Ukrainian refugees come amid a diplomatic spat between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The White House formally suspended all military aid to Ukraine in its aftermath.
