White House takes potshot at Marjorie Taylor Greene over federal funding for her district

The White House took a potshot at Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday for opposing the American Rescue Plan as her own congressional district prepares to receive funds through it.
"Unlike Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene who voted against this funding, as well as to defund federal law enforcement and fire thousands of Border Patrol agents, President Biden is committed to ensuring law enforcement has the resources they need to keep Northwest Georgians safe," a White House spokesperson told The Hill.
The same day, the Rome News-Tribune ran an article on Floyd County's expected receipt of $1 million in public safety funds through the legislation. Every House Republican voted against the bill in 2021.
"President Biden is proud of the resources he’s provided to stand up for the rule of law, crack down on gun crimes, and keep cops on the beat in Floyd County – and across the country," the spokesperson continued.
Greene, for her part, does not appear to have commented on the White House's jab. She has, however, been a prominent critic of the Biden administration and a vocal proponent of corruption allegations stemming from an FBI form detailing a bribery scheme in which Biden, while vice president, allegedly accepted a $5 million bribe from a Ukrainian gas firm.
