Portland has long been a focal point for violent left-wing rioters and attracted considerable attention during the George Floyd riots, with many members of Antifa attacking a federal courthouse.
The organizers encouraged participants to wear yellow to represent unity. However, some marchers went as far as wearing inflatable costumes that have become emblematic outside ICE facilities, particularly in Portland, where there has been a crackdown on Antifa violence.

Trump also told reporters that he would be willing to designate the far-left group "Antifa" as a "domestic terrorist organization," even though no official designation currently exists.
