New York hospital nurses protest over lack of protective gear

<p>Dozens of health care workers rallied outside Harlem Hospital in New York City on Monday, demanding better protection from COVID-19.</p><p>"This isn't a sob story. This is not a story about desperation," said Sarah Dowd, a registered nurse at the hospital. "This is a story about the fight for our lives.”</p><p>Standing six feet from each other outside the municipal hospital, nurses accused hospital management of limiting their access to personal protective equipment, including N95 masks. The group outlined other demands, including longer sick time for health care workers and adequate staffing, including respiratory therapists, technicians and social workers.</p><p>“Patients before profits,” read a sign.</p><p>“Who will care for you when we are dead?” said another.</p>
