Aerial footage shows smoke rising from Canary Islands wildfire

A wildfire on La Palma, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, had burned through 3,500 hectares (more than 8,600 acres) by Tuesday, July 18, local media reported. On Tuesday, firefighting efforts focused on the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, a pine forest, according to El Confidencial. This aerial footage, release by local officials, shows the fire burning in the park and in Tijarafe. Spain is one of several countries across Europe gripped by a heatwave.
