Biden nominates Adm. Lisa Franchetti to be Navy’s first female top officer
President Biden announced Friday that he has selected Admiral Lisa Franchetti to head the United States Navy. If confirmed to the position, Adm. Franchetti would be the first female officer to lead the Navy and the first woman in the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
