Bolsonaro gives first address since losing Brazil's presidential election

On Tuesday, outgoing Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, broke his silence on the results of Brazil’s presidential election run-off, which he lost to former president Lula da Silva. In a short speech from the Presidential Palace in Brasilia, Bolsonaro thanked the 58 million people who voted for him, and addressed supporters protesting the election results. Shortly after Bolsonaro’s speech, Brazil’s Supreme Court officially recognized the results of the election and said that Bolsonaro’s speech marked the beginning of the transfer of power.
