Boston Marathon winner stripped of title

Diana Kipyokei, the winner of the women’s Boston Marathon last year has been stripped of her title. Investigators found a banned anti-inflammatory drug in her system and discovered she had provided false documentation that it had been prescribed by a doctor. She tested positive for a corticosteroid used to treat swelling and eczema. In addition to losing her title, Kipyokei has been banned from competing in sanctioned events for six years. She did not challenge the findings.
