Carlee Russell faced with criminal charges for faking her own kidnapping

The Hoover Police Department announced in a press conference Friday that Carlee Russell has been charged with two misdemeanors for faking her abduction two weeks ago. On July 13, Russell called 911 to report that she found a toddler walking on the side of the highway. When police arrived at her location and she was missing, state authorities launched a two-day manhunt that garnered nationwide attention. Police say Russell admitted it was a hoax when she turned herself in on Friday and was released on a $2,000 bond.
