D.C. air quality ranked among world's worst as wildfire smoke blows in

Maryland authorities issued a code red air quality alert for parts of the DC area on Thursday, June 29, as smoke from Canadian wildfires drifted into the region. Footage captured by Brenden Varma shows hazy conditions from his home in Washington on Thursday morning.Red alerts would remain in West Virginia, northern Virginia, and all of Maryland throughout Thursday, the National Weather Service said.
