Descendant of Pablo Escobar’s “cocaine hippos” dies after being hit by car
One of the descendants of Pablo Escobar’s “cocaine hippos” died Tuesday night after being hit by a car near the late drug king’s ranch. The hippo died on the spot while the driver received medical attention at the scene. Escobar illegally imported the hippos to his Columbian estate in the 1980’s when he ran the country’s cocaine market; after his death, four hippos were abandoned and left to multiply into the hundreds.
