Ecuadorian authorities vow to regain control of prisons amid a wave of violence
Ecuador is vowing to take back control of all of its prison facilities. Reportedly, gunfights and attacks with explosives have broken out at multiple detention facilities, leading to deaths of at least five police officers. It started after officials tried to transfer some inmates to other prisons.
